“Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead…” Philippians 3:13

I don’t know about you, but every year I find myself a bit sad after Christmas.  The Christmas season is just so exciting.  So much anticipation and preparation.  Time with family and friends, giving and joining together, celebrating the birth of Christ.  Such a wonderful time of year, that once Christmas day is over and done for me there is always this tinge of sadness lingering that I will have to wait another full year to celebrate again.

During this time I’m thankful for a New Year, to remind us that He truly does make all things new.  The past is gone, never to return again, and before us lies all new adventures.  A new year reminds us of new life in Christ.

One of the greatest joys in ministry is getting to witness the profound miracle of new life in Christ.  There are few things better than walking with someone who gives their life over to Jesus, and then experiences Him truly making all things new.

So what are you most excited about for the new year? Where are you hoping to grow in Christ?

My prayer for all of us is that we would continue to look more and more like Jesus with each coming year, being made new in the image of our Savior.
