So what on earth do we talk about on Thursdays when we go into a strip club?

Fondant. You know, that rolled-out smooth icing that you see on wedding cakes. One of our incredible cooking teams — who also happen to be teenagers, by the way — made delicious cupcakes with fondant snowflakes on top.

That’s how sharing the Gospel started last night. Really.

Before we walk into a club with a home-cooked meal, we sit in our cars and pray once more. We pray for wisdom and boldness. We pray that God will continue to soften hearts. We pray that the people we encounter will see us just as God sees us and that we will see them as God sees them. We pray that someone, even if it isn’t us, will be able to speak Truth into their lives and share the Gospel.

We pray these things hoping — but not expecting — that it will happen at that very moment.

Sometimes, though, that’s exactly what He does! We pray and think God will respond with the capacity that we are able to manage. But God has bigger and better plans than we could ever imagine! (Isaiah 55:8, Jeremiah 29:11)

Last Thursday night God allowed us to catch just a glimpse of how big He is and it all started with people you wouldn’t expect making cupcakes filled with love and topped in fondant.
