Scarlet Hope – Journal #77
The same with Rahab, the Jericho harlot. Â Wasn’t her action in hiding God’s spies and helping them escape – that seamless unity of believing and doing – what counted with God? Â The very moment you separate body and spirit, you end up with a corpse. Â Separate faith and works and you get the same thing: a corpse. Â James 2:25:26 (The Msg)
Putting our faith into action is a constant growing thing. Â Each week we go into the clubs in our community completely relying on the Lord to provide our meals, our teams, the way. Â It’s teaching each of us what it means to walk as Jesus walked and to live out a faith that is bold and true. Â Â Meeting our friends in the clubs brings us to a harsh reality inside ourselves that reminds us we are just reliant upon God’s grace in this life as any one of these dancers.
This report is a little late: Myself (Rachelle) and two of our board leaders have been doing some training in California and Vegas. Â We have been blessed to expand our knowledge of this industry and to see what other ministries like Scarlet Hope are doing. Â Thank you for those who have been praying for this trip. Â We’re excited to get back and continue our ministry in Louisville!
Last Thursday our teams went into Clubs 1,2,3, and 4. Â Â However I thought I would just take time to highlight a few things:
* Â J – DJ from Club 2 received a donation from a dancer/bartender to give to us. Â We insisted she keep it but they WANTED us to have it. Â We see acceptance, trust and love from those gestures.
*JO – Dancer from Club 3, we learned she is post-abortion…..JO found out she was pregnant and was afraid of what her boyfriend would say, so she took all her money she had made and took a taxi to an abortion clinic, after it was done she took a taxi, alone by herself home. Â She’s told no one about this, but a member of our team. Â Please pray for JO. Â Our heart completely breaks for this situation. Â May God go before us as we continue to Love her and show her Jesus.
*We met the owner in Club 4, who welcomed us and told us we can come back to his club any time we want. Â He also told us the girls really really appreciated everything we did for them while we were there. Â It was awesome to see the power of God in this club. Â He is opening doors and keeping them wide open, because His arms are THAT WIDE!
*C – Former dancer from Club 1. Â C still has not found another job. Â Â Pray a door opens for her to be able to have an opportunity for a new job. Â If you know of anyone that would be willing to hire her, she does have her HS diploma.
Scarlet Hope will be featured in a Southeast Article – Thursday – March 25th. Â We are so blessed to have the opportunity to share the story of Scarlet Hope. Â To check it out, go to: Â www.southeastoutlook.com
