If I was hungry and met someone like me, would my need be met?Wow! That’s all I am thinking right now…I just got back from taking my new club friend (H.S.) to Northside’s food pantry. She had mentioned at the club on Thursday night that a food pantry in Jeffersonville had turned her away. My mind went to work, so on Sunday morning I had a mission – find out when NCC’s food pantry was open and who can come to it.I picked H.S. up from her house right after I got off work today. We then picked up her daughter, who is a beautiful 17 year old girl, from a doctor’s appointment and set off for NCC. On the way there, H.S. introduced me to her daughter and explained that I was a Christian. I have never told H.S. straight out that I was. I know that Jesus is working on her heart…I believe that He is the one she sees when she looks at me.We get to NCC and signed in. When asked by a worker if we were all together, she introduced me as her angel. WOW!!! That just made me feel amazing. She got to pick from a list of food items what she wanted/needed. When called up to actually go and look through the food, Paula, a worker atNCC, took her right on in and gave her WAY more than what she had requested to receive. These people working at NCC’s food pantry met a physical need but also an emotional need. They took her and her daughter in and let them load grocery bags up of food. I was thinking to myself, “what happened to that list of items they gave to her to circle…” They were so generous! My trunk was FULL of food!I also want to mention that they type of food they had was good food…not the food that no one wanted but actual brand named food. Loads of donuts, bagels, etc. They met the need and went way, way, way above it!!! Praise the Lord!!!When we were unloading the groceries, H.S. looked at me and said, “Lindsey, I love you. This was such a huge blessing for us.” I told her and her daughter that I loved them and that I was glad to help out. We allembraced and went our separate ways.It is so true that the smallest thing can make a HUGE impact on someoneelse’s life. I feel that I am being so blessed by being a part of Scarlet Hope and give all the glory and praise to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!Love you,LindseyJames 2:15-16 “Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to him, “Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it?”
