“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” — Psalm 34:18

Trauma leaves a mark. It affects the way we see the world, the way we see ourselves, and often, the way we see God. For the women Scarlet Hope serves—many of whom have endured exploitation, abuse, and deep personal wounds—trauma is not just a chapter in their story. It’s often been the backdrop of their entire lives.

But trauma doesn’t get the final word.

We believe in a God who heals. A God who draws near to the brokenhearted. A God who brings beauty from ashes.

The Intersection of Faith and Mental Health

At Scarlet Hope, we’ve seen firsthand how faith and mental health support go hand-in-hand. Faith doesn’t erase trauma—but it gives a foundation of truth, identity, and hope that can hold steady when everything else feels shaky.

When a woman is healing from trauma, she often needs more than one kind of support:

  • Emotional care from someone who will listen without judgment.
  • Practical resources like housing, employment, or counseling.
  • Spiritual truth that reminds her she is not what’s been done to her—she is who God says she is.

We are committed to providing all three.

Creating Safe Spaces for Healing

One of the most powerful things we can offer a woman who’s been through trauma is a safe place to be seen, heard, and known.

Through one-on-one relationships, support groups, and our Care Team, we create consistent, Christ-centered spaces where women are not pressured to perform, fix everything, or pretend to be okay. Healing happens in honesty—and we meet women with grace exactly where they are.

Sometimes, the first step toward healing is just this: someone showing up and saying, “You are not alone.”

The Role of Community in Recovery

Trauma often isolates. It makes people feel misunderstood, ashamed, or broken beyond repair. But healing comes in community.

Through meals shared at the table, prayer over text, job training sessions, and discipleship groups, we surround women with a network of people who remind them:

You are deeply loved.
You have purpose and value.
You are not beyond redemption.

We’ve seen women move from silence to sharing their stories. From fear to freedom. From despair to deep hope in Christ.

When Jesus Steps Into the Pain

The gospel doesn’t promise that life will be easy—but it does promise that we will never walk through pain alone.

Jesus knows what it means to suffer. He sees every scar, every secret, every tear—and still says, “Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28).

Faith offers what trauma takes:

  • Hope for the future
  • Peace in the chaos
  • A new identity in Christ

We’ve seen women come to know a Savior who doesn’t just tolerate them—He rescues, redeems, and restores.

You Can Be Part of the Healing

As we walk alongside women in the adult entertainment industry and those seeking freedom, we invite you to join us. Whether through prayer, giving, volunteering, or simply learning more, your involvement makes a real difference.

  • Pray for women carrying invisible wounds.
  • Support trauma-informed ministry with your time and resources.
  • Share this message so more people know healing is possible.

Together, we can reflect the heart of Jesus to women who need to know:
You are not too broken. You are not too far gone. There is hope after trauma—and His name is Jesus.
