The holiday season at Scarlet Hope only happens with the help of many volunteers and supporters. We reach more families during this season than any other time of year. The participants in the Discipleship Program were given beautiful and warm fleece jackets with the “Scarlet Hope” name embroidered on them at their Bible study Christmas Party. The ladies were wearing and modeling them to one another within seconds of opening them. We are thankful for Riverbend Financial Group for sponsoring these gifts and the catered meal we all enjoyed at the party.
Southeast Pastor Dave Stone and his wife hosted an awesome Christmas party for our ladies, too, in his home. The night included delicious food, jokes, gifts, and hilarious caroling! This has become a yearly tradition that really demonstrates the beauty of Christian community and hospitality.
We also were able to help the moms in our program provide Christmas gifts for their kids with the help of Candyjacks of Louisville. Our Hope for Kids program had their own Christmas party with gifts, crafts, and more with the help of Westport Road Baptist Church.
At Christmas Outreach in the clubs we carried in hundreds of adorable stockings filled with treats so that each lady had something warm, something sweet, a bath and body product, and an encouraging devotional they could take home with them. We were floored by how many churches and individuals sponsored clubs for this outreach. Everyone put so much time and resources into making those gifts special. They looked amazing.
Christmas is fun because of the colorful decorations, gifts, music, parties, warm cocoa, amazing food, and much more. The women and families we served experienced these wonderful things this season through the different events we offered. But most of all, they heard the good news of Jesus and where true Joy and Peace can be found.
