For this week’s blog Scarlet Hope wants to take the time to spotlight one of our amazing volunteers.
Angela first started serving with the ministry in 2012. She was on the Cooking Team and several times a month would bring in delicious meals to be served in the clubs. After only a couple of months cooking for us, Angela found out that we had a need for meals for our Hope for Kids program. Without anyone having to ask, Angela gathered people from her bible study and together they provided hundreds of dollars worth of chicken fingers, fish sticks, fruit cocktail, cookies, crackers, and many other kid-friendly foods for the kids in our ministry.
Since that time, Angela has served in nearly every area of our ministry. She’s gone into the clubs to share the love of Jesus, she’s helped the women we work with find jobs, she’s comforted crying babies and helped clean our house and now she’s even helping the ministry with administrative details.
Angela is an example of servant leadership. She does not wait to be asked and she does not assume that someone else will do it. She simply sees a need and fills it. And through it all, she’s got a smile on her face.
We know that this is only possible for Angela because of the power of God in her. She would be the first to tell you that it is only because she was first loved by Jesus Christ that she is able to now go and love others.
Thank you, Angela, for always going above and beyond and for your commitment to serve the Lord even when it’s messy and even when it’s hard. We praise God he brought you to Scarlet Hope!
