“I was really struggling with my call to this type of ministry when I attended [the HEELED conference], for so many reasons. I have felt God calling me to this for the last 5 years, but I had barriers in my life that he has been removing. While at this conference, Christ broke that final barrier and I was just overwhelmed the whole time I was there… I know that I AM to do something to reach out to the women in our community that are caught up in the sex industry. I know, more now than ever, that only God can heal them… I know my future is with this type of ministry… I feel so strongly that he is calling me to this, so I will be busy getting the groundwork started. I will be starting a special Bible study/prayer time for those who feel they have a heart for this ministry, so that when God calls us to move we will have a place just for these women. I have started doing the research in our area, along with gathering resources. My hope and prayer is that next year, we will be actively involved in building relationships here in our area and that we can again come to your conference and bring more women with us who want to be a part of such a wonderful ministry. Thank you so much for allowing me that opportunity.”
Praise God, we are so happy to report that Scarlet Hope’s first ever conference for people doing ministry with women working in the adult entertainment industry was a huge success!
It wasn’t successful because we had hundreds of people in attendance. It wasn’t successful because we sold dozens of T-shirts. It wasn’t even successful because all of our speakers did an absolutely amazing job.
The HEELED conference was a huge success because God was glorified. It was a success because God’s people were encouraged and equipped to continue bringing His Good News to women who have only known bad news their whole lives. The conference was a success because God spoke to His people and told them to go and make disciples of women working in strip clubs and women who are being trafficked. Basically, the conference was a success solely because of GOD.
We are incredibly thankful to everyone who helped make the conference such a blessing to those in attendance. Thanks to Annie, Karen H., Karen C., Amy, and Christa. Thanks to Sovereign Grace Music. Thanks to our amazing staff, interns, and volunteers. And thanks to all the men and women who traveled from all across the country to attend the conference. We are thrilled to see what God will do through our time together. And we can’t wait to do it again next year!
