My name is Amanda Roederer and I never imagined God would bring me to Scarlet Hope but I’m so thankful he did!
I grew up in a small town in Illinois in a Christian family. I attended Lincoln Christian College and Seminary and got my undergraduate degree in Business and Bible. The Lord called me to Louisville (although I didn’t plan to stay forever) and I met my husband here. Ten years, two kids (and one on the way) later, I am still here!
God has been preparing me for my role at Scarlet Hope for years without me realizing it. I worked for Southeast Christian Church for six years–three years as an administrative assistant and three years as the Director of First Impressions for the Indiana Campus. When we had our first child, I left to work in the financial investment world and worked in Client Relations for Riverbend Financial Group.
A close friend of mine was involved with Scarlet Hope and asked me to be a part of her prayer team. I agreed and just loved what God was doing through the ministry. I prayed each week that God would bring His light into the darkness of the clubs through my friend and that he would be made known throughout our city. I have always believed that Jesus would be having dinner with these ladies if He were walking this earth. It turns out He was preparing me to be a part of the ministry!
I have been on staff for a little over one year now and my role is more of an overarching organizational role. I am responsible for all the things that the organization needs to function: finances, human resources, policies/procedures, and everything else that helps us to operate effectively and efficiently. I am making sure we are being wise stewards of our time, talents, and treasures. I am honored to be a small part of what God is doing through Scarlet Hope!
