When I first heard about Scarlet Hope, I didn’t know what a blessing the ministry would be in my life. I’ve been a Hope for Kids volunteer for three years next month. I took some time off in May and June of 2012 to prepare for a mission trip to Kenya. I had contemplated possibly volunteering at other ministries. However, when I was in Kenya, I helped teach the story of Daniel and the lions to kids at a nursery school, and I loved it. At that time, Jesus proved to me the love for kids He placed in my heart. As a result, I decided to continue my volunteering with Hope for Kids. As I’ve been teaching the kids about Jesus, my relationship with Him has gotten stronger. Jesus has taught me how to teach the kids about Him and also has inspired me to do more children’s ministry in my future.
It’s been such a treasure to see the kids learn about Jesus and the Bible. Currently, we are teaching stories from the Bible chronologically to the kids, starting with Creation. We’ve just started combining the Club Zero and Hope for Kids Bible studies on certain months. By doing this, we hope to encourage discussion about Jesus at home so the love and light from Jesus will increase in their lives. I look forward to see how the Hope for Kids program will progress in the future. Most importantly, I am so excited to see the kids learn how wonderful Jesus is, how much He loves them, and how He can do such incredible things in their lives. My life has been so blessed and forever changed thanks to Scarlet Hope and the love for kids Jesus has placed in my heart.
