Scarlet Hope runs on prayer. As God asks us to step onto the battleground of the Enemy where he is powerfully at work, we are ever-aware of our need to be covered by and covered in prayer.

The Enemy is in the business of enslavement. We see that in the lives of the women we work with, and we see it in our own lives. Just as we are prone to return to our old lifestyles, if a woman tries to leave the industry, she will most likely return at least seven times. That’s how hard it is to break the cycle. Although we know there’s a battle going on for our souls, in Ephesians 6 we know that we are not wrestling against flesh and blood “but against principalities, powers, and the rulers of the darkness of this world.” Our weapons are spiritual. We know calling upon the name of Jesus and declaring His word can break every chain!

The Bible urges us to pray without ceasing. It also talks about the power of praying in agreement between two or more people. We have prayer partners for every volunteer. We also have volunteers who stay back and pray for the rest of the team while outreach is taking place in the clubs. We ask the women that we meet in the clubs how we can be praying for them and we commit to lifting those prayer requests up to our Heavenly Father.  Our call to prayer could not be more clear in the Bible, and we need prayer saturating every aspect of this ministry.

The Enemy doesn’t like seeing people freed from bondage. Ultimately, Jesus has the victory. But we also know that He carries out His work through the prayers of His people!
