What would you do if someone asked you to give away their money to support your favorite charity — no strings attached?
Kroger has launched a new program called Kroger Community Rewards. All you need to do is list Scarlet Hope as your Community Rewards beneficiary. It takes less than two minutes to sign up, costs you nothing, you still get all of the Kroger points you normally would, and through it you can donate up to $1,200 per year per household of Kroger’s money to Scarlet Hope! The more households who are involved in Kroger Community Rewards for us, the bigger the percentage of the $3 million (up to $50,000 per quarter) you can direct Kroger to give to Scarlet Hope this year alone.
Just go to www.kroger.com/communityrewards and click on “Sign In.” Once your Kroger Plus card is assigned to your online account, scroll down to the bottom of the Account Summary page and you can designate Scarlet Hope to receive charitable funds through Kroger. Just type “scarlet” into the search field to find us. (If you use an “alternate ID” like a phone number to access your Kroger Plus card when shopping, just make sure that it is linked to your online Kroger account at this time.)
With very little effort, you could help us purchase things that we really need like the special bakery truck necessary for Scarlet’s, our upcoming Freedom Enterprise. How’s that for being directly involved in the day-to-day ministry!
There are more than 80 participating stores in KY, IN, and IL. A complete listing of the stores in the “Louisville” division (as of this post) is on our website so you can find a location convenient for you.
Then just start shopping. It’s that easy! There’s no special card to load. No list of special shopping dates to remember. There are just a few types of purchases that wouldn’t be counted, like fuel and some gift cards. Other than those few exceptions, everything you buy using your assigned Kroger Plus card will be a gift from you to the women we serve for our generous Lord!
