“Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man's feet and ankles became strong.” Acts 3:7
The verse above reminds me so much of how the Lord and His people have come around this ministry and helped us up – making our feet and ankles strong!
We can't do this without you!
It's been awhile since I took the time to sit down and update everyone on where God has taken us in the ministry of Scarlet Hope.
From the beginning of just this year to now – life looks a bit different.
In February of this year we were given a beautiful home that will enable the kingdom to advance beyond anything we could imagine. This home will be a place where true discipleship can take place and where what happens on Thursday nights in the clubs can be lived out throughout the rest of the week! We are so thankful for this gift that God has given us.
At times it feels so overwhelming that God would lay in our hands something beyond our imaginations. But it is the peace and knowledge of Christ that surpasses all understanding that allows us to continue moving forward.
In March of this year – one month after we were told that in April we would have the key's to this house and it would be ours – myself and my husband (Joshua and Rachelle Starr) put our house up on the market. Selling our home was something we had felt God calling us to do for quite sometime before ever knowing about this home for SH. We prayed that if it was the Lord's will that we sell our home then we would be waiting on a miracle for it to sell in this market. Not to our surprise – within 24 hours we had an offer and a contract within 2 days. Closed and moved out within 3 weeks flat! God had a plan! And let me tell you – it was ALL His plan!
April 15th SH received the key's to our new home and April 16th – 17th we had a wonderful group of about 75 volunteers come out to help us clean, clean, clean! We needed a clean slate to be
able to see what the needs and potential really was for this home. Since this day we have had over 25 work groups out to the house. YWAM, Revolution Church, SoJourn Community groups, and so many more groups and individuals! It has been such a huge blessing!
God has brought to our team Joe Blair who has served by managing our project groups that come into the house. Scott W. for serving by helping us renovate a kitchen that will be used to cook our Thursday night meals. Sal Rubino in serving by also assisting in the kitchen renovations. Henderson family that planted a beautiful garden for the home, Rich Poe for landscaping areas around the house, and the list truly goes on and on. It has been incredible to watch over and over God meet our needs~
We are still under renovations and we are still working day in and day out to make this house a home. The Lord is providing through men and women like you, and we are so grateful!
We have continued with our Thursday outreaches and will continue to do that more and more. God has opened doors into 14 clubs in our city that we now serve! So many women now are wanting to know more, asking for help, reaching out to see what this “Jesus” is all about. It is amazing to watch how when we are obedient in the field he will bless abundantly! It's nothing because of us, it's all because of Jesus!
September 23rd 2011 – is our annual Evening of Hope. We ask and pray that you will join us for this evening to benefit the ministry of Scarlet Hope. It will be a huge year for us as the Lord has given us more responsibility to take care of. You can purchase tickets for the event on our website
