“If you're not welcomed, not listened to, quietly withdraw. Don't make a scene. Shrug your shoulders and be on your way.” Mark 6:11 (The Message)
I wanted to send out a quick blog update to let everyone know a few things going on in the ministry.
If you are from around Louisville, I'm sure you have heard of the ordinance for the adult entertainment industry going into effect. This has kept us quite busy with questions, concerns, but most of all a great amount of prayer to keep us strong in this time of uncertainty for the ladies we serve.
I am not going to talk much about this today, but we ask for your prayers and support for Scarlet Hope to continue to be able to minister to the women of this industry. We have been asked to leave two clubs because of this ordinance. It's not being asked to leave the clubs that's heartbreaking, it's the fact that each week the lives of more than 80 women won't be reached. So please pray over Club 4 and Club 10 as there is much uncertainty in our ministry in those clubs. Pray for a meeting that Rachelle is going to have with the owner of Club 4. That owner is very interested in what we are doing and needs reassurance we are trustworthy.
Everything else is going great. We are working on the plans for the new house, Scarlet Hope received. We can't even begin to describe our excitement for this new journey! We are already seeing new doors open for working with women not just in clubs. We hope and pray that this home is a tool that helps us reach beyond what we can imagine! God has great plans for this home~
We are working with several dancers that are new to our ministry. One of which is 7 months pregnant. One of our ladies we've known for awhile just started coming to bible study and has recently told us she left the industry and left her lifestyle of being a lesbian. Praise God for the redemption in her life! Our ex-dancers that have been out for quite some time are doing wonderful. D is moving into a much safer home where she will be able to work on getting her kids back into her custody. Pray for her through this transition. L got a great job at a senior care facility and is doing amazing there. M, who was living in a shack with a tarp roof and dirt floor just moved into her first ever knew home. God has done mighty and great things for these ladies! We are thankful for the work in these ladies lives as well as all the other women we didn't mention. It's incredible!
Thank you for keeping us in your prayers!
Thank you for standing by us in this ministry!
Truly Thankful,
Rachelle & The Scarlet Hope Team
