Team: Sarah, Debbie, and JamieWe met many new dancers last night and we were well received as soon as we walked in the door! I love nights like this…..so many conversations…..glimmers of Hope……..questions about God.One of the dancers at Club 3 is testing soon for her cosmetology license – she even gave us a professional flat iron last night because one of ours wasn’t working. She said she had several of them and she appreciates what we do, so she wanted us to have it. What a blessing!Prayer requests and Praises:~ Praise!! Dancer G has been at Club 3 ever since we stepped foot in there. Jamie asked her last night if she would go to church with her…and offered to pick her up. G seemed a little hesitant at first but is definitely thinking about it, so please be praying that her heart is softened to the idea.~ Praise!! Dancer A thanked us for being there last night because when we are there…she avoids doing “bad things.” We told her that she didn’t need to change for us because we loved her just the way she was!! She smiled and said we were sweet. She then changed her mind and she she was going to avoid doing “bad things” for herself instead of us.~ Club manager/owner P came into the dressing room last night to tell us about why our security team should not sit in the parking lot. (Police cruise around looking for trouble-makers and they would probably get harassed about why they were there.) The conversation turned into a long monologue by P about how she believes in her own god in her heart, but that she doesn’t think that she needs to go to church. She told us her story about how she was emotionally turned off by some hypocritical christians when she was young and lost the desire to return to a church building ever again. We interjected a couple times to apologize on behalf of those that showed her a poor example of who Christ really was…..but she mostly seemed like she wanted us to listen, so we did. She justified her work by telling us that she was the only owner in town that was an ex-dancer and that she treats the girls really well…..tanning beds, showers, legitimate business (no expectations for illegal activity), understanding of their female/mother needs, etc. Â She was really trying to convince us that she does the dancers a favor by being so kind to them. The prayer for P is multi-faceted, but the biggest is that God take the blinders off of her eyes. We pray she is able to see that she is not helping these girls by owning a club. All the dark parts of her past that she is traumatized by were all in conjunction with the same industry, the same greed, the same fears, the same loneliness, the same addictions, the same sins, the same lust, the same lies that run her business today. The same enemy is still trying to claim the souls of all who enter. Our god wants better for her and all his people – all the dancers and all the customers that continue to bring her profit. please pray for her heart.
