“They will know we are Christians by our love”
Sister in Christ, Julie W. writes of the women God had them encounter in Club 2 this week….these are a few stories.
“When we walked in the club, a woman approached us and said..” i need to go to church.” To me this is evidence of the Gospel working through the team of scarlet hope… because she did not know us, she never met us.. but everyone in that club knows that we are different.. and when they need prayer and are desperate for hope.. they come to us. She also said she needed prayer, so i asked her if we could pray for her right now. She accepted and even prayed with us right there in the club. Then we made plans.. i am picking her up and taking her to a worship service this Sunday. She says she reads her bible and used to go attend services but she has fallen away when she was in a bad marriage. She said he was controlling and wouldn’t let her go because he feared her leaving him for another man. She just had spinal surgery because of a tumor and left this man because he was threatening her just two hours after her surgery.. She has been homeless but right now is living in her brother’s shed. Yes, i said shed.. she lives in the backyard in a shed.
Another woman we met is a widower, she attends church services regularly and this body of believers knows she dances. She hates being in the club and her Christian brothers and sisters try to help her find other employment – but she said. “i have a house payment and 5 kids” – what am i supposed to do?
Another girl shared her struggle with spiritual warfare and doesn’t feel she is ready to go all the way into the that life. I encouraged to just walk in that direction rather than to jump all in.. and take it day by day. She seemed to like that thought , so we will see.
Another girl, who loves taking pictures.. and wants to go shoot with me sometime. She has been following my blog and loves my work.. so, heck yes, i am using whatever God has gifted me in to share the Gospel. We will be hanging out soon.” Â – Julie
Sister Kassie K writes of her time in Club 2…
“Jonathan prayed with Julie and I before we went into Club 2 last night, I think that made all the difference in the world! Â Thank you Jesus for awesome security guys and for answering prayers for great conversations!
When I first approached T she was quick to tell me that she attends church every Sunday morning and Wednesday night at a Baptist church in Louisville. Â She went on to tell me that she’s been friends with V for forever, she said they used to travel around to club openings together and it was a “crazy” time, she talked very highly of this time in her life but then said she hated dancing and was too old for it and didn’t want to be there. T dances on and off when she needs money to support her five children. Â She said when she comes back to the clubs to work she puts on a facade and “disconnects” herself from T (her true identity) and becomes A (her dancer name) for the night.” Â – Kassie.
God opened doors and filled the club with His Light and Love, it was evident all around us!
Praise God for His Glory!
