The Power of Mercy:The story of Gomer the harlot wife came across my mind this week.   The story of Gomer is a story that we see all to much in the clubs.  An adulteress wife whom God loved dearly, and used to show the people of Israel that the Loved loves them even though they turn to other Gods.  Gomer shows us that no matter how low we get, God does not cease to love and care for us.  There is a way back, a home in him to return to.  HE has purchased us out of slavery with the blood  of his Son Jesus.  The greatness of our sin is the best reason to go to him, not a reason to stay away from him, for Jesus said “It is not the health who need a doctor but the sick, I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”   Praise the Lord for His Mercy!A frequent patron on Thursday nights, left the club after feeling convicted by the Holy Spirit that He was lying to his wife and committing adultery, by going into the clubs each week and “just looking”.Not to often do we take the opportunity to chat for long with the patrons.  Besides the obvious reasons we wouldn’t, the women in the club get very upset if they think their customer is trying to hit on us.  So almost all of the time we give a polite hello and keep going.  However this night that wasn’t going to cut it.We are so excited to report that God opened the door to another club in Louisville.  This will now be our 6th club we will be serving in and are really blessed and very excited about this opportunity!Hannah and I (Rachelle)  walked into a new club after feeling the Lord pulling us there.  We sat down and got some cokes and the bartender right away asked what we were there for.  After telling her we would like to come in and do hair and makeup for the girls, she crossed her arms and said “I do their hair and makeup, and you’re not going to get these girls to buy anything from you!”  Hannah and I smiled and said “it’s free” well that got her attention :)She said ok well that’s good “RB here needs a makeover”  I said well we actually weren’t prepared to do makeovers tonight, we wanted to get permission from the owner.  Without a thought she whipped out her cell phone and called the owner.  As soon as the owner answered the phone the bartender CR said “there are church ladies here to do makeovers” (we never said we were even from a church)   The owner who is the owner of one of our other clubs new us right away!!  She said “sure, baby I completely trust you and I think that would be great”  I could hardly believe my ears. After we hung the bartender said you all can go right in the bathroom and fix RB up.  Hannah and I frantically thinking, this is our chance we’ve got to think of something….remembered Hannah had her makeup bag in her car.  We used one small makeup bag and one brush to makeover 5 dancers!!   Hannah and I felt like God multiplied that makeup and anything we needed 10 times over! The bouncer said to us as we were leaving “you all did something more to these girls, I’ve never seen them look so ‘joyful'”  The bartender was so excited to see all of the girls makeup and hair she couldn’t wait for us to come back next week.  CR also was so excited that she is bringing us her makeup she doesn’t use and her curling irons and flat irons that she doesn’t use.  She said she wants to donate them to our “cause” !!  My smile peaks so big every time I think of that!!!    Wow!!   God has such an amazing sense of humor.   If we walk with him and are obedient, you will be filled with Joy …all your life long!!We got to sit and talk with the dancers for a long period of time.  I think we arrived at the club at 9:30 and we did not leave until after 12.  One of the young dancers said to me “you’re a christian aren’t you?”  I said yes I am!  She said I could tell because I used to be a christian, but I started hanging with the wrong people and getting into bad stuff and now I know God wouldn’t want me back.   My eyes started welling with tears and I looked her right in her eyes and told her that NOTHING makes God stop loving her.  Nothing!!!   That Jesus Loves her more than she’ll ever know, to remember that He died for her!   Tears started running down her face and she looked at me and said “please don’t tell anyone I was crying”   It was such a beautiful moment, that I am so grateful to have had!!!

A frequent patron on Thursday nights, left the club after feeling convicted by the Holy Spirit that He was lying to his wife and committing adultery, by going into the clubs each week and “just looking”.
Not to often do we take the opportunity to chat for long with the patrons. Â Besides the obvious reasons we wouldn’t, the women in the club get very upset if they think their customer is trying to hit on us. Â So almost all of the time we give a polite hello and keep going. Â However this night that wasn’t going to cut it.
We are so excited to report that God opened the door to another club in Louisville. Â This will now be our 6th club we will be serving in and are really blessed and very excited about this opportunity!
Hannah and I (Rachelle) Â walked into a new club after feeling the Lord pulling us there. Â We sat down and got some cokes and the bartender right away asked what we were there for. Â After telling her we would like to come in and do hair and makeup for the girls, she crossed her arms and said “I do their hair and makeup, and you’re not going to get these girls to buy anything from you!” Hannah and I smiled and said “it’s free” well that got her attention 🙂
She said ok well that’s good “RB here needs a makeover” Â I said well we actually weren’t prepared to do makeovers tonight, we wanted to get permission from the owner. Â Without a thought she whipped out her cell phone and called the owner. Â As soon as the owner answered the phone the bartender CR said “there are church ladies here to do makeovers” (we never said we were even from a church) Â Â The owner who is the owner of one of our other clubs new us right away!! Â She said “sure, baby I completely trust you and I think that would be great” Â I could hardly believe my ears.
If we walk with him and are obedient, you will be filled with Joy …all your life long!!
We got to sit and talk with the dancers for a long period of time. Â I think we arrived at the club at 9:30 and we did not leave until after 12. Â One of the young dancers said to me “you’re a christian aren’t you?” Â I said yes I am! Â She said I could tell because I used to be a christian, but I started hanging with the wrong people and getting into bad stuff and now I know God wouldn’t want me back. Â Â My eyes started welling with tears and I looked her right in her eyes and told her that NOTHING makes God stop loving her. Â Nothing!!! Â That Jesus Loves her more than she’ll ever know, to remember that He died for her! Tears started running down her face and she looked at me and said “please don’t tell anyone I was crying” Â Â It was such a beautiful moment, that I am so grateful to have had!!!
We need many prayers for this new club and the seeds that are already being planted in that club! Â Â Praise the Lord for his goodness!
Thank you Jesus!
