Scarlet Hope – Journal #71 – Jan. 29th 2010
“So do not be afraid of them. There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known. What I tell you in the dark, speak in the daylight; what is whispered in your ear, proclaim from the roofs. Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows. Matthew 10:26-30
So many lonely men, filling voids, searching for something to fill their pain or pleasure. Â The clubs were packed. Â Friday nights are always my least preferable night, but it’s one that has Great impact on our team and the dancers we serve.
BT saw us from across the room and hurried over to us with huge wide open arms! Â She hugged Sarah and I together and it was such a wonderful feeling to see how receptive she was to us and how much we meant to her…even in the midst of how busy they were, the dancers took time to come and eat and talk with us as much as they could.
It makes me even more thankful for Thursday nights and the time we get to be with them when it’s not so busy.
Having a meal that was prepared by hands that prayed diligently over the food made our night even more of a blessing. Â When the foods good, we know no matter what they’ll eat which gives us a chance to share with them.
But on this night as well we had a situation that brought the night to somewhat of a despair. Â A single mom that left the industry right after we met her has a 2 year old daughter. (due to the nature of this incident, I’m only speaking briefly) Â This night she was at the hospital with one of our delivery team members being checked for abuse. Â Abuse of a nature no one should endure ever. Â The doctors did put to rest what our biggest fear was for her, which was an answer to prayer. Â But this little sweet precious girl is not in a healthy environment. Â Both the mom and daughter are doing ok, but in need of prayer! Â God is the healer of all things and we know he will bring about justice if need be and healing where it’s necessary. Â Please pray for this situation.
God is changing, molding and growing the lives that he has entrusted us to touch. Â It’s not by our works, or what we say or do that changes lives. Â It’s Jesus. Â When we are in Him, He is in Us!
Praise and Prayer
M – Enrolled in GED classes, she made outstanding scores on her test so she will complete her GED in 6 days! Â Praise God!
BT – Has 2 classes left for her GED. Â She plans to get her CNA license, she has so much HOPE for a better life.
C – Left the industry 8 months ago, but I have recently found out she is prostituting herself out. Â Her heart is not in a place where she is receptive to change, but please continue your prayers for her.
V- Knows who God is, but doesn’t see anything wrong with her profession or life style. Â Talks of wanting God in her life, but doesn’t want to take the steps to make Him Lord of her life.
RX – I recently found out she has moved to TN and is getting married. Â Quit working in this industry and is trying to get her life on together.
D – Is trying to help us get into another club in Louisville. Â Pray it goes well with the owner when we get a chance to meet her. Â God is working all over!
