Recently, we were reminded just how powerful that kind of community can be.
A Journey No One Should Take Alone
One of the women connected to our Columbus team found herself stranded far from home.
She had been left in Georgia.
From there, she made her way to Alabama.
But eventually, she ran out of money and had no clear way to get back.
She was alone, vulnerable, and trying to figure out what to do next.
But she was not without connection.
Because of the relationships built through Scarlet Hope, she reached out.
And when she did, our network responded.
A Response Across Cities
Within hours, a plan began to come together.
We were able to purchase a bus ticket to help her begin the long journey back home to Columbus. But getting her on the bus was only the first step.
Along the way, our teams in multiple cities stepped in.
Late that night, as she passed through Nashville, Emily met her at the bus stop. She brought food, a care package, and even a phone charger as her battery was down to one percent. In that moment, it was not just about meeting physical needs. It was about reminding her that someone was there, that she was not alone.
The next morning, as her journey continued, Heather met her in Louisville with a hot breakfast and another care package. Again, a simple but powerful reminder. You are seen. You are cared for.
And finally, when she arrived in Columbus, a member of our team was there to pick her up and bring her home.
What This Really Means
This is what a network of hope looks like.
