WHY: In 2015, Rachelle Starr founded Scarlet’s Bakery, a social enterprise to equip and employ women out exploitation and trafficking. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, we had to shut the retail locations down this year. We shifted and began operating an online business selling cookies mixes in an effort to continue supporting the employment of women in our Career Development Program. Rachelle wanted to offer this time for anyone who is considering opening a social enterprise or is currently operating one to share about her experiences and lessons learned.
