For any area of service in our ministry it is required to attend a Volunteer Orientation. The next orientation training we have set is October 14. It begins at 9 am and goes until around 11:30 am. Please sign up below to join us for the next orientation and to receive information about our location.
Strip Club & Massage Parlor Outreach Team (Night & Day)
Every Thursday day and night the Outreach Team visits 12 (19 on special occasions) of Louisville’s strip clubs, bringing home cooked meals to over 200 women and staff in the industry. Visiting each club on a weekly basis allows us to build relationships with the women and have one-on-one impact with them as our friendships grow with each of the dancers. If you would like to join this team, or find out more information about being on the Outreach Team, please attend one of our mandatory trainings every other month of the year.
Hope for Kids Volunteer
Hope for Kids exists to show children of all ages and all backgrounds that Jesus loves them and has a plan for their lives. We offer child care on Thursday nights from 6:00-9:00 pm while the ex-dancers are in Bible Study and Support Groups. In the Hope for Kids program, the children get to hear a Bible story, as well as participate in arts and crafts activities and indoor and outdoor games.
Thursday nights from 6:00-9:00 pm ladies from the industry (or who have recently left the industry) are invited to a Bible Study that we call Club Zero. This also includes a family meal, one on one sessions, and art therapy. In this area of ministry we need bible teachers, discussion group leaders, mentors, people to help with dinner, etc. We also offer a day-time program called Day of Hope on Wednesdays where ladies who are in transition can come to work on personal growth and receive focused support. For this program we need people to teach life skills classes, lead recreation activities, provide lunch, and help with childcare.
This team is made up of 200+ volunteers that serve on a regular basis by preparing food each week to feed 150+ dancers, DJs, and club managers. Some volunteers choose to prepare the whole meal for a specific club, while others serve by providing part of the meal for a specific club as it fits in their schedules. By providing food you will be enabling the strip club outreach volunteers to have significant conversations with the girls in the clubs. You will never know how much a warm, home cooked meal can mean to these women!
Scarlet Hope truly believes that it is only because of the prayers of His saints that we are daily seeing girls come out of the sex industry and coming to know our great God! Joining the Prayer Team is easy, but a very real and large responsibility. Every other week you will receive a Scarlet Hope prayer e-mail with specific requests that we’ve received from dancers in the clubs, as well as prayer requests for the ministry as a whole. We ask that the prayer team takes the time to pray over these specific requests, perhaps even choosing to pray on Thursday nights while the outreach team is at the clubs.
This volunteer area involves a low-level of client engagement. If you love working out the logistics of an event, if you are the kind of person that likes to organize and get things done, this area would be great for you! Frequency of involvement can be flexible to your schedule or on a regular rotation. Many of the opportunities in this area can be done as a volunteer group (a whole small group, entire women’s bible study, etc.) or as an individual.
Scarlet’s Bakery Team
Scarlet’s Bakery will be opening December 16th. We are currently seeking volunteers who will be able to assist once the bakery is open. Scarlet’s Bakery employs women who are seeking a career change and may have been initially connected through Scarlet Hope.
If you think the Lord may be calling you to join any of our teams, we encourage you to familiarize yourself with this website. Read the FAQs. Visit the Team pages. Look at the Blog. And then pray.
