We are so excited to introduce to you one of the newest members of the Scarlet Hope team, Kaylee Nappo.  Kaylee was recently hired to be Scarlet Hope’s Discipleship Program Manager.  Here are some things to know about Kaylee:

Where did you grow up?

I moved all over growing up but from 7th grade until I graduated from college I lived in North Carolina. I went to Western Carolina University, where I graduated with my degree in Recreational Therapy. After that I did an internship in Charlotte, NC and then became a licensed therapist. From Charlotte, I moved to Indianapolis to work with kids with behavioral disorders and intellectual and developmental disabilities. While I was in Indiana, I was offered a job in Buckhorn, KY to develop and implement a Recreational Therapy program for youth in a psych and residential facility. Most of my kiddos were in the foster care system and in states custody. God then brought me to Louisville and I began working for Scarlet Hope in May.

What do you do as the Discipleship Program Manager?

As discipleship program manager, I run the Day of Hope program, Hope for kids program, Club zero and now our support group at Club Zero. I provide recreational therapy services at our day program and make connections with community partners. I also lead life skills, job skills and biblical classes.

What gifts has God given you to carry out the roles this position requires?

God has given me the gift of leadership, teaching, compassion, and the ability to develop programs.

What are some of your favorite things about working at Scarlet Hope?

I love to see lives being changed! I love being able to walk with the women we serve and show them how to live as a new creation. I really enjoy working with the Hope for Kids program and love all of those kids so much. The community that comes with being involved in Scarlet Hope is amazing!  I have a passion to work with women and children in this population and want to live like Jesus would live. He would be the one going into the darkness and loving on these women.

What do you like to do in your spare time?

I love to do anything outdoors! Hiking, kayaking, softball, coaching, exercising, yoga, exploring, traveling, etc.
