WHY LOUISVILLE?
Sharing the hope & love of Jesus with exploited & trafficked women in Louisville…
Scarlet Hope began in Louisville in 2007 when founder Rachelle Starr felt called to go directly to women in the adult entertainment industry with the hope of Jesus.
What started with prayer and a home-cooked meal inside one strip club has grown into a consistent, relationship-based outreach model that now serves women weekly.
Louisville remains our founding and training hub. Many of the outreach processes and programs now used nationally were first developed here.
Add historic photo of early outreach if you have it.
Our Efforts
With the help of our volunteers, our team is making an impact, one woman at a time, through the following efforts.
Get Involved
We cannot do any of this without our incredible team of volunteers. Read more about how you can serve and sign up for our next Volunteer Orientation.
Outreach
We maintain consistent weekly presence inside local clubs and through digital outreach, building trust with women over time.
Community
We connect women to local churches, resources, and long-term support systems.
This is not event-based ministry.
It is relationship-based and consistent.
Discipleship
We offer Bible studies, prayer, and relational support for women who desire to explore faith and healing.
Meet Our Louisville Team
A Place of Refuge in Louisville
In Louisville, we have a dedicated Resource Center where women can step into a safe, welcoming space outside of their work environments.
This space allows us to offer:
• Bible studies and discipleship gatherings
• One-on-one conversations and prayer
• Case support and resource coordination
• Practical needs such as clothing, hygiene supplies, and meals
• Volunteer training and preparation
More than a building, the Resource Center is a place where women are known by name, welcomed without judgment, and invited into community.
